1. Alright, so I finally got brave enough to try the Sinus Buster.

Yeah, this shit definitely fucking burns. It’s honestly not as bad as I had been anticipating, given the reviews I read, but it’s far from comfy. (When you’re putting pepper spray up your nose, though, what can you expect?) I only used one spray per nostril (the bottle suggests 1-3 per nostril, as needed), but my nose is already pouring. The burning went away after maybe fifteen seconds, so it’s definitely not bad enough to turn me off of the product, especially with such quick results. I needed one tissue per nostril when I went to blow my nose hah.

If you suffer from sinus pain and congestion, I suggest giving Sinus Buster a try. It’s natural and non-habit forming, but it can cost up to $15 a bottle. (I don’t think you’d run the risk of overusing it, though, because it is kind of uncomfortable.)

Ingredients: capsicum annuum 4x/5x (capsaicin), ascorbic acid (crystallized Vitamin C), Eucalyptol, purified water, Rosemary extract, sea salt, vegetable glycerin.

  2. Natural sinus pain/congestion/infection remedies?

I’ve been on what seems like a never-ending quest for sinus relief for years now. So far, nothing. I was taking Omnaris for a while, but coincidentally (or not, given that it’s an immunosuppressant) I got sick shortly after I started it and didn’t get better until after I quit taking it, and although it did help with my allergies and sinus problems, I was getting really sick of the month+ of cold symptoms.

I’m using Sinus Buster (cayenne nasal spray) a couple times a day now, and it does clear my sinuses up a bit, but it’s far from enough. Steam treatments are awesome, but there’s not always time or a place for them, and Sudafed only does so much, especially when you don’t take it regularly.

Does anyone know of any herbs, preparations, or products that work especially well for sinus discomfort? At this point, I’m fairly sure it’s an infection (my mucus is clear, but my whole head aches, especially my right frontal sinus cavity, and all I want to do is sleep), so something heavy-duty would be nice. I was told to start rinsing, but I haven’t yet. Maybe that’s really what I need?

So yes, suggest herbs, techniques, medicines, et cetera. Are there any really good menthol products I’m missing or something?

  3. Vicks VapoRub mustache.

    Today’s accessory of choice.

If you’re in Fresno, remember that tonight is Art Hop! If I do go out (I really need to hand out fliers for my show on Tuesday, but I haven’t decided if I’m going to tonight or not), I’ll probably be at Chinatown Youth Center most of the time, but there’s no shortage of art and music tonight. Some places even have food and drinks (occasionally wine for cheap drinkers).

  4. Attractive sinusitis stuff.

I wish I could open up my face, scrape all the shit out of my sinuses, and rub some oregano oil or something all over them. My face has never hurt so bad, I’ve been coughing for a week, and I keep going from feeling all dried out to drowning in nasty, sweet-tasting phlegm. My ear made the gnarliest sound earlier, too, like I could just hear mucus moving around in there. I’m glad the sore throat cleared up a couple of days ago, but the coughing is getting annoying and the pain is just getting worse.

Why isn’t there a cure for this shit yet? Science is disappointing.

  5. I swear to god I’ve had a sinus infection or something for the past several months. I want to break my face open and empty my head out. I’m sick of always feeling like I’ve been punched in the nose and eyes.

    Whine, whine, whine, whine.

  6. Alright, I called into work because one, I definitely have another sinus infection brewing in my skull and can’t hear out of my left ear, and two, my sister came home with some pretty heavy news, so I decided to stick around and make myself available to her.

    Life sux.

  7. For the past few days, I’ve been trying to figure out whether virtually everyone around me has sinus infection breath or if it’s actually me. I’m pretty sure it’s other people, but the amount of post-nasal drip and facial pain I have makes me unsure.
